Haole Boy, the surf therapy dog

Haole Boy tells the remarkable true story of Haole, a white Labrador who discovered surfing later in life and unexpectedly became one of the sport’s most celebrated competitors. After finding success in dog-surfing contests and gaining recognition for his unique talent, Haole’s journey took a deeper and more meaningful turn.

His time in the spotlight led him to surf therapy, where he began working with children with special needs through the healing power of the ocean. What began as a remarkable surfing story became something much greater: a story about connection, compassion, and the ability of one extraordinary dog to bring joy and confidence to children and families who needed it most.

Haole Boy is ultimately a story about finding purpose in unexpected places—and how one dog’s love for the ocean became a powerful force for healing, inspiring a community long after the waves stopped.

To Love And Do Good

To Love and Do Good is an independent surf documentary that explores the intersection of surfing, faith, and human connection. Through the story of Ama Ridder, a surfer from Mozambique, the film follows a journey from isolation and loneliness toward belonging, community, and a deeper understanding of purpose.

Set against the global surf community, the film invites audiences to consider how authentic relationships and faith can transform lives, and how the surfing world can become a place of connection, hope, and lasting impact.

Increments of Fear: The Buzzy Trent Story

Increments of Fear is the story about one of big wave surfing's most iconic pioneers, Buzzy Trent. Sailing to Hawaii in 1952 in search of riding the biggest waves he could find, he and the pioneers of his era would become the gladiators that would create the sport of big wave surfing as we know of today, immortalizing the times in Buzzy's most famous quote, 'Big Waves are not measured in feet, but in increments of fear."

Rán: A Scandinavian Surfing Saga

Directors Note: Upon meeting Freddie in the summer of 2022, I immediately cast my doubt of surfing in the Baltic sea. Sweden was both a place I never thought I’d visit, nor would ever aspire to find waves… but through the charm of Freddie and my insatiable curiosity, I couldn’t resist a simple visit.

Thousands of kilometers later, I can safely say we have scoured as much coastline as the Baltic has to offer, with some North Sea sojourns in the mix. The waves we found, while often fleeting, poised challenges that took my breath away. Anything from snow storms to 1 hour swell windows kept us on our toes, and as Freddie showed me the landscape of his home, I in turn learnt just how passionate and extreme these surfers are.

And while so many sessions added up to cancel my initial doubt, Freddie’s dreams came to fruition early last year when a big wave showed signs of promise. We rallied for a mission that brought together ourselves and others like Nic Von Rupp and Andrew Cotton, and on a morning when snow fell at our feet… we scored waves that rivaled that of Tahiti and Fiji on their day of the year.

The Baltic Sea and Arctic Circle is an area of the world that imbues nothing but inspiration, hardship, and most importantly, reward for those that are ready to push their limits.

This film is a testament to Freddie’s will, my curiosity, and everything that we experienced together. I am forever proud of him, and in turn I am honored to share what I see as scratching the surface into my frozen odyssey.
